Voice Tutor lets you talk through a topic out loud. You ask, explain your thinking, or ask to be quizzed, and the tutor answers in a natural voice and waits for you to respond.
Start a voice session
- Open AI Chat.
- Tap the waveform Voice button in the composer. The first time, allow microphone access.
- Speak normally. Try "Quiz me on the stages of mitosis" or "I think the answer is 12, can you check my reasoning?"
- Tap End voice when you are done. The conversation stays in the chat as text.
Who can use it
Voice Tutor is part of Premium. Premium includes 20 spoken minutes a day (your speech plus the tutor's replies), and each spoken turn also uses one of your daily AI uses. If you are on the free plan, tapping Voice shows what Premium includes. See Pricing.
Dictation: type with your voice
If you only want to dictate a message instead of having a conversation, long-press the Voice button. Your speech is turned into text in the composer so you can edit it before sending. Dictation works on both Free (50 a day) and Premium (500 a day).
Why talking helps
Explaining an idea out loud is a quick way to find the gaps in what you know. If you cannot explain why a step works, you will hear it. A voice session makes that kind of practice easy without a study partner.
Privacy
The microphone is used only while a voice session or dictation is running. You can end a session at any time. Our Privacy Policy explains what is kept and for how long.
